Now that Splashy Fen is out of the way for yet another year, we can focus on some paddling events.
Firstly, a Huge Thank You to all the Stella members and the non-members for the help that was given at Splashy Fen this year. We had more than enough help and it was great to see so many of you there. For those of you who arranged for friends / parents / students to come and help, please pass our sincere thanks onto them. Of course none of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of Chris Slater. As always Chris, you are a true stalwart and we thank and salute you for your commitment to Splashy Fen and Stella Canoe Club over the past 12 years.
Other news is that we have a new caretaker on the property. Advice asked us to look for a replacement for him as he wants to be closer to his family. We have found a chap and he seems a really pleasant guy. His name is Rodney. Unfortunately Rodney does not have any furniture, so we appeal to all Stella members for furniture donations. He has a bed, but needs a wardrobe of sorts, a bedside table and lamp, a couple of chairs, a 2 plate stove or old bar fridge and since Rodney is busy studying, maybe an old desk also. Bits of furniture other than those mentioned will of course not be turned away, so please help where you can. If anyone can help, please contact myself or John Dives ( 083 423 0843

Also a reminder to re-new you Stella Canoe Club and KNCU membership as those are now due.
The new fee structure is as follows:
Stella - R280.00 (Snr) and R70.00 (Jnr)
Canoe racks - R145.00 / rack
KNCU - R 460.00 (Snr) and R145.00 (Jnr)
Stella and KNCU forms for 2009/2010 are now available.
For those wondering what happened to the AGM and Prizegiving - don't despair, we will have them at the beginning of June. The tentative date at this stage is the 9th of June.
